Urgent Information

Internet & Phone Outage

Hello BISD Community,

KPUD (Kitsap Public Utility District) is experiencing an outage, meaning that we do not have consistent phone or internet service across BISD, or greater Bainbridge Island. We have heard from KPUD that this outage is expected to last into the early morning hours of Saturday, September 20. We will not be altering our school day today – it will remain business as usual.

Central Campus (District Office, Ordway, COS, BHS) do have access to phones, but all other buildings do not. None of our buildings or departments have access to the internet.

School staff do not have access to email, so any communication that you may have sent regarding transportation or other time sensitive matters will not be accessible. We will default to all typical after school dismissal plans (i.e. pick up or bus route) for our students.

If you need immediate assistance for any school related issue, please call one of these four district lines, and we will relay the message to the appropriate building via our emergency analog phones.

We have relocated our Transportation Dispatchers to the District Office for this afternoon. If you have an immediate transportation need please call 206-780-1055. NOTE-we are not able to make last minute non-emergency transportation changes, i.e. playdates.

Thank you for your understanding and patience,
