Housing Insecurity

Housing Insecurity

We work with parents/guardians and/or students to help students who are facing housing insecurity (lack of a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime home) stay in school and access stable services.

Federal law, called the McKinney-Vento Education of Homeless Children and Youth Assistance Act, gives children the right to a free, appropriate education regardless of their housing situation. Schools must remove barriers to children in temporary housing
to enroll, attend and succeed in school.
