STEM
From the STEM Room
The STEM lab is buzzing with energy this fall, as students across all grades dive into their unique explorations. Kindergarteners are tackling structure and function, solving problems for their fairytale friends. First graders are discovering the wonders of sound and light, while second graders wrap up their unit on erosion. Third graders investigate invisible forces like magnets and friction, and fourth graders delve into potential and kinetic energy.

Amidst all this learning, we focus on the scientific and engineering processes, nurturing essential soft skills. Students collaborate, communicate, navigate challenges, persevere, and think creatively. With curiosity driving their discoveries, every lesson feels more like play, making learning a joyful adventure!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful students with me!

Sincerely,
Erin Graham

Veterans Day Assembly
Friday November 8th Ordway will honor our Veterans at an all school Veteran's Assembly. Veterans and Active duty personnel who are friends or family of Ordway students are invited to join us from 8:30 - 8:50. Construction traffic outside the school, while improving, is still unpredicable so please allow a little extra time if you plan to come.

We also will create our Veteran's Wall of Honor, Veterans STARS were sent home last week. Return a star and we'll place it on our Wall of Honor.

Book Exchange
Please send any gently used or new children’s books to the Ordway Library. We need hardcover or paperback novels; fiction, non-fiction, and picture books. The 4th-grade student council will wrap up all the books and conduct a whole school Mystery Book Exchange in December. This project is student-led and they are excited to start wrapping the books. This is a great time to clean bookshelves and ask neighbors and friends for books. We will need close to 400 children’s books. Thank you for your support!

Feedback RE: BISD's Permanent Superintendent
In late September, School Board President Mark Emerson and Vice President Kelly Cancialosi shared a message about the hiring process for the permanent BISD superintendent.
The Board wants your feedback! You can provide input through this Parents/Guardians/Community Survey. In addition, a community meeting open to all will be held on November 7 at 5:45 p.m. in the Board Room.
