Good Morning Blakely,

Welcome back to the entire Blakely community! I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing break and it provided you with the energy needed for 2025.It was so great to see all of the students and staff this morning excited for school. It’s good to be back, but the break was definitely needed.

I look forward to seeing all of you around Blakely.

PTO Happenings

PTO Planning Meeting this Friday, January 10th, from 8-9 am

Memory Book Cover Art Contest

Showcase your artistic talent and creativity by creating an original work of art for this year’s memory book cover. Ideas include: a drawing of the school, children playing, a bulldog, etc. Be creative and have fun! In addition to your artwork, the illustration must also include Blakely Elementary 2024-2025. The illustration must be on an 8 ½” x 11” sheet of white paper (vertical orientation). Please use colored pencils, crayons, or markers, and don’t forget to put your name on the back! Submissions are due January 24th and can be dropped off in the office in the tray labeled “Memory Book Contest.” Go Bulldogs!!

Bingo Night

Save the date for our popular Blakley community family Bingo Night. Friday, January 31st 5:30-7:30 pm. More details to follow.

Community & Staff Meetings Regarding BISD's Budget

Join Superintendent Amii Thompson and Chief Financial Officer Kim Knight for Budget-Centered Focus Groups throughout the month of January.

Staff Focus Groups will be held both in-person and via Zoom. Please see the schedule and sign-up information here.
Community Focus Groups will be held both in-person and via Zoom. Each meeting will begin with an overview of our budget challenges, then we will break into smaller groups for discussion. Please see the schedule and sign-up information here.
The purpose of these meetings is to hear what you most value at BISD and learn your ideas for ways to increase revenue and areas for possible reductions.
