Erika Borg is appointed Director for District 2

BISD is pleased to announce Erika Borg's appointment to School Board Director for District 2 following Robert Cromwell’s recent resignation.
“We are very happy to have Erika join the board. Her experience working with youth and involvement in the community will be a valuable asset to the district and to the board as we continue to work on equitable opportunities for all of our students,” said BISD School Board President Mark D. Emerson. “Her financial skills as a small business owner and experience managing budgets will also be extremely helpful as the district implements its plans for a balanced budget moving forward.”
Erika and her family moved to Bainbridge Island in early 2020 and have an elementary student who attends the El Velero Spanish Immersion Program at Ordway Elementary. Professionally, her consulting business, Civic Allies, helps organizations facilitate impactful change. Erika also serves on the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce, where she is chair of the Economic Development Committee. Her professional background includes business leadership and experience working for nonprofits, with a focus on education and workforce development.
Erika will be sworn into office at the regular school board meeting on Thursday, February 27, at 5:45 p.m. and will serve the remainder of Cromwell’s term through November 2025.
