GUIDED GARDEN WALKS WITH KIDIMU & BLOEDEL RESERVE
Join KiDiMu for guided garden walks at Bloedel Reserve each month! Meet in the North Parking Lot at the Reserve at 2:50 PM; walks begin at 3 PM and last for 1 hour. Walks with occur each month through October. Cost is $15 for up to 4 people. For a complete schedule and additional information, please visit

ISLAND-WIDE LITTER CLEANUP
April is Earth Month on the island, and one way we can show BI some love is by choosing a stretch of road and picking up the butts, cans and wrappers that hide in plain sight. EARTH DAY CELEBRATION AT BLOEDEL RESERVE

SUSTAINABLE BAINBRIDGE PRESENTS THE REFASHION SEWDOWN SHOWCASE
April 27, 2025, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. $ 10. Arrive for the appetizers, stay for the grand unveiling. Artists will have participated in an all-day sewing blitz using a curated box of clean scrap pieces, upholstery samples, and deadstock textiles to create upcycled apparel. Students will have redesigned old t-shirts and jeans to create a brand new ensemble.  Marvel at their models as they descend BIMA's grand staircase and walk the runway in their inspirational outfits. 6th ANNUAL BIDDLE MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
April 28, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Wing Point Golf & Country Club, 811 Cherry Ave. Price varies. Golf for Good! Join the Troy & Baden Biddle Foundation for lunch, cocktails, and dinner + auction. All proceeds support local youth sports and wellness programs and also fund the Biddle Memorial Scholarships - given each year to Bainbridge Island graduating high school students who have made contributions to youth sports and athletics in the form of leadership, mentorship, sportsmanship and/or ambassadorship. Now in its 6th year, this annual tournament has become a beloved community celebration and is sure to be the MOST fun you'll ever have on a Monday! Find out more information here. 

STATE’S LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

April 30 from 5-7 p.m. at Sisters’ Cider House, 921 Hilderand Lane. If state funding was all we had to support our schools, we’d already be getting ready for the last day of school! Join Bainbridge Schools Foundation and Bainbridge Public School Advocates at Sisters’ Cider House on Tuesday, April 30, from 5 to 7 PM for a casual, family-friendly gathering to mark the “State’s Last Day of School.” This symbolic date reflects how far state dollars go in funding public education and highlights the important role our local community plays in supporting a full, enriching school year for every BISD student. GREAT DECISIONS – INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ON CLIMATE CHANGE
May 4, 2025 from 3:30-5 p.m. at the BHS Theater, 9330 High School Road. Free. Join for a Community Conversation with former Washington State Governor Jay Inslee. 

STUDENT CONSERVATION CORPS IS HIRING
Student Conservation Corps (SCoCo) is a paid Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District employment opportunity enhanced with conservation education for local High School age students. SCoCo brings the energy and passion of youth to local environmental work through three program components:

-A series of spring interview work parties
-Three paid summer sessions
-Fall volunteer restoration work parties

The employment SCoCo provides to youth in our community develops a new generation of environmental stewards while making progress in the battle against noxious weeds in Bainbridge Island parks. SCoCo members work to control invasive plant species in our island’s parks and protected open spaces, achieving goals outlined in the Park District’s Invasive Plant Management Plan. During the three summer sessions, local educational speakers provide conservation education and career advice to SCoCo members during their lunch hour. PICKLE PALOOZA
Sunday, June 1 from 1-5 p.m. at the Founders Courts at Battle Point Park, 11299 Arrow Point Dr NE. There is a nominal registration fee. Pickleball event for high school and middle school students, sponsored by Bainbridge Island Pickleball and Bainbridge Parks and Rec. There will be both tournament play and round-robins for all levels of play. Spots are limited;

PUGET SOUND CLEAN AIR AGENCY ART CONTEST
Now through June 25, 2025. Share your passion for art and the environment!  Enter the Creative Climate Action art contest for a chance to have your artwork featured in the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency’s Comprehensive Climate Action Plan. Help us combine art and science to foster greater understanding and engagement for climate in the Puget Sound region.  Choose any art form to create original artwork in one of three climate action categories. Winners in each category will receive $50. Learn more and enter here.

ROTARY AUCTION & RUMMAGE SALE
Saturday, July 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woodward Middle School, 9125 Sportsman Club Road. The Rotary Auction & Rummage Sale is an annual fundraising event organized and run by the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island and over 2,000 community volunteers. Auction & sale information here. 

KITSAP STRONG FUTURE FOCUSED ACADEMY
Free summer program for students entering 6th grade in fall 2025 - Register now for the Future Focused Summer Academy! Students who are entering sixth grade in fall 2025 will participate in this two-week program to learn self-regulation skills, mindfulness, goal setting, and hope as they explore interests, strengths, and career and future pathways. BAINBRIDGE ISLAND MUSEUM OF ART SUMMER ART CLASSES
Calling all middle school and high school students who love comics and graphic novels! BIMA is hosting two week-long summer art intensives: GRAPHIC NOVELS FOR TEENS (July 21–25), for ages 14–17, and COMICS: WORDS & PICTURE (August 4–8), for ages 11–13. The cost is $425 for non-members and $382.50 for members. Classes run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. More information and registration links are available here.
