Are you wondering when the last day of school will be because of earlier weather-related closures? We are, too! We are waiting to hear the official date from OSPI, and once we know, we will share it ASAP.
For now, it is best to plan that all three make-up days built into the school calendar will be utilized -- which would make Monday, June 23rd the last day. Please note that there will be no school on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.
Stay tuned! We will let you know as soon as we can!

The Annual Back-to-school Check-in (ABC) process is now open. This annual process lets us know that your student(s) are returning to our schools for 2025-26 and allows parents/guardians to review annual information. We have had 34% of families complete their ABC Check In so far.
The ABCs must be completed* for all students attending BISD schools in 2025-26, including both new and returning students. Access the ABCs by logging into your Family Access account. It should take about 15 minutes (or less!) to complete.
If you need assistance with the ABC process (such as translation, accessing technology, or other questions), please get in touch with Kyanne Hawkins at KHawkins@bisd303.org or (206) 780-2060.
NOT RETURNING? If your current K-11th grade student is not returning to BISD schools next fall, please let Kyanne Hawkins know at KHawkins@bisd303.org or (206) 780-2060.
*Student class placement/class schedules will not be released in August until the ABCs are completed. But why delay? Go ahead and take care of it today!

We love our Volunteers! Please remember that all volunteers who help in the classroom, on field trips, and other various activities must be cleared by the district: Volunteering with BISD. The approval process can take up to two weeks. Once approved, you are ready to volunteer and your approval is valid for two years.
Please bring your driver's license or id each time you sign into any school in the district.

Staff Appreciation Week is coming up (May 5-9)! As part of the celebration, special decorated boxes will be set up in the front entrance for the next two weeks (April 21–May 2) to collect notes from your students. During Staff Appreciation Week, each teacher, specialist, para, and Blakely staff member will have a box of notes from your students.
- Encourage your child to write a note, draw a picture, or create something meaningful for their current teacher, past teachers, or any staff member who’s made a difference—such as our music, PE, and art teachers, paras, counselor, nurse, and of course, the wonderful office staff!
- If you have any questions, feel free to contact your room parent(s). Thanks for helping us show our appreciation!
Last Chance to Share your Yearbook Photos!
- We are looking for more candid photos for this year's Blakely Yearbook, please share any of the following:
- First day of school
- In-class candids: group projects, shared space, reading buddies, etc.
- Field trips
- Maker Faire
- Themed/Dress-up days (Pajama day, Glow Day, etc)
National Bike/Walk To School Day is Coming!
- Mark your calendars for Friday, May 16 for National Bike/Walk to School Day. More information to come.

It is time to make sure your student's lunch account is current and any fines are paid!
Payments can be by check or through the online payment site. Checks payable to BISD or cash can be brought to Kyanne Hawkins in the front office.
CHECK FOR LUNCH BALANCES and UNPAID FEES/FINES VIA ONLINE PAYMENT SITE
Login to the online payment site to see if your student has any overdue fees to be paid or materials that need to be returned.
The online payment site lists items that need to be returned to the school and the replacement cost in the event that an item is lost. Return items that you have and only pay for those that have been lost or damaged.
