Principal's Note

Dear Ordway Families,

As I left this morning with our wonderful fourth graders and we headed to Camp Seymour, I was reminded of how impactful our Ordway parent volunteers are. Thanks to our PTO, we are able to offer such events as Carnival, Science-Maker Fair, etc. Similarly we are grateful to have teacher grants curriculum kits, and even our latest emergency preparation kits thanks to parents. From organizing these events to providing classroom support and everything in between, your efforts have not gone unnoticed. We are truly grateful for all that you do to make Ordway a very special school.

Sincerely,
Debra Dunn

Parade of Condiments

Our Parade of Condiments is a time honored tradition at Ordway. We will begin collecting condiments (cooking oils, salad dressings, hot sauce, etc) in boxes outside of classrooms June 2nd-11th. While canned food is always welcome, Helpline has asked that we bring condiments and "anything you would use to enhance your own meal". Condiments are often times an after thought so we created the parade of condiments to make sure Helpline and the people who shop there have access to all the things that make a meal special.

We will need parent volunteers from each class (reach out to your teacher if you have not already) to make this a safe, memorable event. Kids will wear their backpacks carrying condiments and walk down Madison to the new Helpline location. There, they will empty their packs and take a tour of the location while learning about the importance of accessible food for everyone.
Each class will walk with their teacher and parent volunteers to and from and will return to the school for pickup!

Annual Back-to-school Check-in (ABC)

The Annual Back-to-school Check-in (ABC) process is now open. This annual process lets us know that your student(s) are returning to our schools for 2025-26 and allows parents/guardians to review annual information.

The ABCs must be completed* for all students attending BISD schools in 2025-26, including both new and returning students. Access the ABCs by logging into your Family Access account. It should take about 15 minutes (or less!) to complete.

If you need assistance with the ABC process (such as translation, accessing technology, or other questions), please get in touch with Ordway Office Manager Sarah Dunstan, sdunstan@bisd303.org / 206-780-1397.

NOT RETURNING? If your current K-4th grade student is not returning to BISD schools next fall, please let Ordway Office Manager Sarah Dunstan, sdunstan@bisd303.org / 206-780-1397, know.

*Student class placement/class schedules will not be released in August until the ABCs are completed. But why delay? Go ahead and take care of it today!
