Healthy Youth Survey

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey 2025

BHS is participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey during CCS on Tuesday, October 21st. . The survey will be given to students in grades 10 and 12. The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, interpersonal relationships, school experiences, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities, and State agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks. Participation in the survey is voluntary and steps are taken to ensure student privacy. There are no names or codes used to link a survey back to a student. Please read the attached Information for Parents/Guardians and Youth for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey.

If you would like to opt out, please email Jill Colley in the Main Office at jcolley@bisd303.org.

BISD Strong

Character Strong Youth Needs Screener Fall 2025

As part of our BISD ongoing commitment to student well-being and belonging, we will be administering the Character Strong Youth Needs Screener to students in grades 6–12. BHS will be completing this activity during staggered CCS sections during the month of October.

This screener—along with teacher input and other data (e.g., attendance)—helps us better understand students' social-emotional well-being and determine if additional support may be helpful. It also allows us to assess the effectiveness of our Tier 1 Social-Emotional and Behavioral (SEB) supports within our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). If you do not want your child to participate, please sign and return the attached form to your child’s counselor as soon as you are able to.
