On May 28, 2026, the Bainbridge Island School District Board of Directors approved the district's new three-year Strategic Plan, establishing a shared vision and direction for the future of BISD.

This plan is the result of a year-long process that brought together students, staff, families, community members, administrators, and school leaders to reflect on our strengths, examine district data, identify areas for growth, and define our priorities for the years ahead. Through surveys, focus groups, committee meetings, school visits, and student engagement activities, more than 1,000 students, 300 families and community members, and 150 staff members contributed their voices to this work.

Guided by the theme "Many Voices, Shared Vision," the Strategic Planning Steering Committee reviewed more than 30 data sets, analyzed community feedback, and worked collaboratively to develop a plan that reflects the values, aspirations, and priorities of the Bainbridge Island community. The result is a roadmap focused on ensuring every student feels they belong, engages in meaningful learning, and thrives both in school and beyond.
